Ring In A Day Workshop - Fairbanks, Alaska

Craft your own gemstone & silver ring in this three and a half hour workshop. This workshop will focus on skillbuilding and craftsmanship, friendly to beginners. 

Please note that the skills in this class will be taught through the creation of a simple banded ring with no detailing. The header image is a good example of what I mean by a "simple ring." You will choose a standard, or horizontal setting.

This class is designed to support creations that reflect the value of the metal we are working with. Additionally, you will have access to a selection of high grade, thoughtfully selected stones.

Sterling silver has increased in price by 4 fold over the past few years. It is now, truly, a precious metal. In the past, I've found that first time smiths get a bit overwhelmed and sometimes left with creations they were less than proud of when designs became overly complicated. By changing the format of this class my intention is for you to walk away with a piece you are truly proud of, and that honors the materials we are working with. 

Classes are limited at 6 students to ensure each person gets the hands-on assistance they need. I'll guide you through the basics of sawing and soldering, show you how to choose a bezel, shape a backplate, form your ring shape, and polish and finish to create a piece that is both beautiful and durable. 

Includes 1 gemstone of your choice and enough sterling silver for one ring. I'll provide light snacks and beverages.

This space is designed to create simple rings and is not a suitable space for creating an engagement ring. 

Cancellation Policy: I understand that life happens and try to be as flexible as I can. If you're able to notify me within 2 full weeks, I can offer a shop credit or reschedule you to another date. Less than 2 weeks out, I can reschedule you or refund you if I'm able to fill your seat. If an emergency arises please contact me and we can work together to find a solution!
